Session 2: Technology, Tools, and Toys

For our second class, we will make technology our main focus. What did course participants choose to bring with them to class? The ensuing discussion focuses on our relationship with technology - and how emotional that relationship can be. In order to approach technology creatively, we need to step back from the default position - the computer as a work station - and re-approach it, maybe turn the machine and gadgets off before we turn them back on again so we can approach them creatively. The challenge is to get us to leave the default position - being users - and become creators rather than consumers. A creative assignment accompanies our exploration: the "On/Off Experiment".

Session 1: Setting the Agenda and Workspace

This is our class blog. It will become a resource for all to share course content relevant to all. You'll find a simple menu underneath the banner which now contains "Home" = Blog and "Homework", which will contain weekly assignments. Over the course of the semester, more tabs will appear.

I found the Maker-Girl at the World MakerFaire 2015, took a picture, and chose it as our mascot. Technology has no gender; and doesn't need gender barriers.
